Portrait photography in Christchurch
Hagley Park is Christchurch's portrait studio. The Botanic Gardens give you open shade under mature trees, the Avon for reflections, seasonal colour from blossom in September to the famous autumn fortnight in late April and May, and enough space that you will never be short of a clean background. Most family photographers in the city work here, which tells you two things: it works, and you will need your own angle on it. New Regent Street's pastel façades and the Arts Centre's stone give you urban texture; Sumner and Taylors Mistake give you beach light and drama; the Port Hills at golden hour give you the city as a backdrop.

What Our Students Say
“I found the course very informative and really enjoyed how I could do each module at my own pace. Deb was very responsive and provided valuable and encouraging feedback. I especially liked how detailed the Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom modules were and the video resources. The course has definitely given me a solid foundation to build upon and I realise I am heading in the right direction with photography.”
Kylie
