Practising in Auckland
Videography in Auckland
Movement is the difference between stills and video, and Auckland is full of it. The ferries at the Downtown terminal, the Wynyard Crossing bridge opening, traffic on the Harbour Bridge at dusk and surfers at Piha are the classic practice subjects for shutter angle, frame rate and stabilisation. A time-lapse of the cloud over the Waitematā from Bastion Point is an assignment students return to more than once.
Sound is the part beginners underrate, and Auckland's wind and traffic teach it fast. Recording a short interview on the waterfront, then again in the shelter of Britomart, shows you why the course spends time on microphones and locations.

What Our Students Say
“I found the course very informative and really enjoyed how I could do each module at my own pace. Deb was very responsive and provided valuable and encouraging feedback. I especially liked how detailed the Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom modules were and the video resources. The course has definitely given me a solid foundation to build upon and I realise I am heading in the right direction with photography.”
Kylie
